About

Hi, I'm Jacqueline —
photographer, seeker of good light, genuine people, wind, waves, and the attention of greyhounds.

Also, pie.

You should know

My husband says our kids are almost as weird as I am, which I am taking as a compliment.

REad on ...

My work has appeared in Martha Stewart Weddings, Design*Sponge, Style Me Pretty, Refinery 29, Southern Weddings, Exquisite Weddings Magazine, San Diego Magazine, 100 Layer Cake, Bash Magazine, PDN Magazine, Modern Luxury Riviera, Washingtonian Bride & Groom, Bayside Bride, A House in the Hills, United with Love, and Sailing World Magazine.

Currently based in Barcelona, Spain, I am a newly-minted Catan fan (aka nerd), amateur yet enthusiastic boxer, and available for photo assignments worldwide.

My story really began the moment my parents brought tiny me onto a sailboat in my bucket seat.

As an adult, I've lived in Italy, Tanzania, Bermuda, New Zealand and both coasts of the US, and now Spain, which has helped me become adaptable, curious, and easy-going. My husband and I met through sailboat racing and he's become a pro in the sport, so it feels lucky that we share a love for it. Together we're willing to put in the work to live wherever that takes us in the world. Photographing people and working with clients along the way has been such a joy and I feel like we have friends-who-are-family sprinkled all over the world.

I had no idea at the time...

Becoming a mama to twins has shown me how strong I am, how people really are who they are from the start, and how the world is full of unexpected magic in the normal everyday.

The TL;DR version

'84

Born in Washington, DC. My first language was German. Went to Montessori school longer than seems normal (6th grade!?).

'10

Started my business. Thought about fun names, but stuck with just being myself. Also, married my favorite person.

Brought two small crazy humans into our lives. Have occasionally missed things like silence and drinking tea while it's still hot, but otherwise thrilled.

My wedding style is organic, documentary; I capture the little moments that make up the story of the day and give direction for portraits, when I see an opportunity for good light, and for a small number of group shots. I like keeping it light and relaxed during portrait time, so you can really enjoy the moments you have alone together on a packed day. I shoot primarily using natural light because it is just so beautiful and I also come prepared to hit the dance floor with my gear.

I graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Foreign Service/International Economics and a National Championship as women's captain and female MVP of the sailing team. I'm not sure I could still find Kiribati on a map, but if you ever want to get married in an obscure location, I'm here for it.

I eat as many figs as possible straight off of the neighborhood trees, avoid putting away laundry at all costs, and am learning to wingfoil and skateboard, so I am pretty much turning into a teenage boy.

My early career was spent working for a non-profit while also competing in women's match racing on the US Sailing Team and racing with some Transpac52 and Farr40 teams. I went back to school for photography and founded my business in 2010. I'm glad it's how I got here. It's given me a unique skill set in the way I see, how I work with people, and how I run my business.

That's WHAT SHE SAID:

“Somehow you were able to make us

— kyle, Wedding client

look like ourselves,

only much, much better.

That's WHAT SHE SAID:

“I have been looking at our photos over and over again. You had my mom

represents

my brand!”

in tears she was so excited about them."
